Watched the first new Batwoman ep, pretty cringey even even by CW standards, but there was really no way they could make the transition work without being super awkward. I’ll stick around for a few more and give it a fair shot.
In And Of Itself.
A one man show streaming on Hulu. If you have ever listened to any recommendation I have made. If you have ever listened to any recommendation from anyone, ever. Watch this. It’s transcendent. One of the best things I’ve seen in years.
Do not read about it before hand.
Rapturous.
Grade: A++
I mentioned In and Of Itself in the movie thread, but will add a big +1 here as well. Loved it.
It’s not a comedy but had funny parts. She will cry, for sure. But not from sadness. It’s not depressing. Quite the opposite.
Without spoiling I’ll say it’s a sort of magic show that is really an exploration of what it is to be human.
Added to my list.
only four episodes in, but so far WandaVision is fantastic. honestly enjoyed it over any avengers installment
It’s alright I guess but the episodes are way too short.
yeah they felt a little short to me too
Did you guys watch the fucking 2 minute long intros and 10 minute long credits?!
i was half expecting there being another scene after credits
i think that’s part of the sitcom aesthetic
The credits are ludicrous, every time I scroll through them thinking there must be a scene if there’s still 7 minutes. But no.
It’s decent so far but I’ll admit that the sitcom stuff got a bit grating by the end of the third episode, so hopeful there will be less now. Have to admire them for doing that in a high profile show, though.
I’m ready to give disney plus another month once wandavision is done and I can binge it. Also to watch Hamilton a few more times…
I have no idea how they get another 5 episodes out of the “wanda is crazy with grief and created her own reality” premise at this point
All disney+ shows have 6 minutes of credits. It’s very annoying when you want to put mickey mouse clubhouse on repeat to entertain your kids and the credits are as long as the episode.
I’m enjoying wandavision so far. I understand there’s a lot of marvel inside stuff I’m probably missing. But I enjoy the sitcom trope silliness.
I’m fairly certain that isn’t the whole story. Who is Agnes and her husband? Woo’s missing person?
Also, they are setting up the entire phase 4 set of content here, so there’s going to be a lot of lead ins to other shit, and probably more questions by the end that they’ll leave the other movies and shows to solve/talk about/reference.
every episode is only 22 mins of story, so it’s not that hard to fill.
my random ass guess vision is really dead and a part of the alternate reality
oh man, i want to talk about the cold open from episode 4, but I’d have to spoiler my whole post. Basically about how Feige and the MCU changed course on dealing with the blip and people returning because of the pandemic.
I’ll try to summarize.
I saw in an interview somewhere or something that basically, they were just going to gloss over the blip and keep it positive, not a big deal, etc, like they did in Endgame and Far From Home, then COVID hit and they changed their minds. Now, because of the pandemic, they can do this cold open (and probably more in upcoming things) because the chaos and craziness of people coming back after 5 years is something that we, in some small way, can relate to.
I love this episode
I just finished Bridgerton. I thought it was entertaining enough and my wife loved it.
