Wait, what?

Any opinion on whether Gilmore Girls is worth a watch if you’re a man?
Im sorry, what?
Is Kirk Cameron’s Saving Christmas a holiday staple for you?
Only if you’re prepared for Lorelai to steal your heart.
Speaking of, amidst her run in one of the most wholesome shows put to screen, she delivered a shocking turn in Bad Santa. Now there’s a movie we should put up there for a watch party.
I was raised in imminent preparation for the end times and the rapture to happen with the same obsession as some people building survivalist shelters. Watching the stuff play out in a movie is sort of cathartic for me. I still catch myself responding to that way of life even though I’m an atheist these days.
The premise is amazing. If it were purely fictional and not the basis for small and large cults, it’d be an engrossing degree of world building and biblical fan fiction.
Lest you doubt my adoration for the concept and shitty movies in general, I also made sure to check out our boy Nic’s remake.
How does Nicholas Cage blow through so much money?
While his houses in California, Nevada, and Rhode Island – among others – could be considered “normal,” Cage also invested in homes with some character too. One even had a history with the supernatural. In 2006, he purchased the LaLaurie mansion for $3.45 million. The New Orleans building was owned by the LaLauries in the 1800s. Delphine LaLaurie was notorious for torturing and murdering slaves. People claimed to hear screams of the mutilated slaves even when the building was vacant.
The LaLaurie Mansion was constructed in New Orleans and belonged to the physician, Leonard Louis Nicolas LaLaurie. More importantly, his wife Delphine was a really bad person. She was cruel and took particular fun in harming the slaves because she was actually the worst. If that story seems somewhat familiar, it’s because it was used as the inspiration for the Kathy Bates’ character in American Horror Story: Coven.
BONUS
Cage is such a superheroes nerd that he named one of his kids Kal-El after Superman’s birth name. At one point, Cage had a comic book collection worth upwards of $1.6 million. His prized possession was Action Comics #1, the story which first introduced Superman. Cage paid $150,000 for it. However, the comic book was stolen in 2000. He got it back in 2011 but was forced to sell it, taking in $2,162,000 for it. He also owned Detective Comics #38 in which Robin is introduced.
Nearly Killed His Career
In a desperate attempt to pay back all of his debts, Nicolas Cage nearly risked his own reputation as an actor when he starred in the critical and commercial failure Bangkok Dangerous. The movie is about a guy called Joe who is a professional assassin who sticks by the rules and gets into all sorts of trouble. Although the movie had a $45 million budget, it only made $42.5 million at the box office. Somehow, Cage is still finding work ten years later.
Yes. I enjoyed it way beck when it 1st aired.
Some of the townsfolk stuff is ponderous, but the various friends and parents more than make up for it.
Alice in Borderland is super terrible. You have been warned.
I’m really caught here not sure whether I’ll love it, hate it, or the super combo of you’re both wrong
Season 9 of Letterkenny out today on Hulu for Americans (I believe it came out yesterday on Crave for Canadians)
I guess this is the thread to put this. The 100 is one of my guilty pleasures.

Season 3 of Parks and Rec is one of the greatest seasons of tv ever.
It was truncated do to writers strike plus they had a ton of time after they filmed to get everything right.
The unfortunate thing for people who didn’t watch VEEP, it might be gone forever.
The last four years have dashed the ability to appreciate the absurdity of it all.
So… the last season of Crazy Ex Girlfriend is fucking terrible
I don’t think so, I rewatched it a month or two ago and thought it held up great.
Also, I’m convinced that Andrew is a composite character of Hunter and Jim Biden. Best character in the show.
This article triggered a memory due to peak Cage (The Rock, Con Air, Face/Off), there used to be a site HSX.com or Hollywood Stock Exchange.
It was a game where you started with a certain amount of money and then bought the futures of Hollywood movies. I remember making a killing on Con Air. Movies were listed at all points of development and their final price was how much they made in their first four weeks in theaters.
Was actually a lot of fun, as you got to speculate on all sorts of projects, many which never even came to fruition. Plus you couldn’t just buy blockbusters. The Marvel movies of today would not make you much money as the success is almost guaranteed and priced in. Con Air was definitely a summer blockbuster but I remember getting in on the basis of the idea.
I know the company that owned it was trying a bunch of different ways to monetize it and tgey produced at least one movie.
