The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

I really hated the last episode. Why are Dr. Manhattan and this lady in love? They didnā€™t show any of that. They just talked and talked and talked and talked about it. So much goddamn talking. And you canā€™t just out of the blue tell us that the guy Angela is married to is Dr. Manhattan and expect me to to care about their relationship all of the sudden. Youā€™ve ignored him for 7 episodes so I donā€™t care about him or his relationship with Angela. Saying heā€™s Dr. Manhattan doesnā€™t change that. Oh and Dr. Manhattan experiences time differently? Who gives a shit. You know who doesnā€™t experience time differently? Your audience! Congratulations HBO on making another character as annoying as Bran. At least Dr. Manhattanā€™s dick works.

Iā€™m one of those ā€œI donā€™t like her voiceā€ guys but also Michelle Wolf is funny as shit and Iā€™m definitely watching anything she puts out.

Itā€™s a voice made for comedy.

I loved her last special, Nice Lady.

I watched several times ā€œHidden figuresā€ on Netflix already. Not the whole movie all over again but the best scenes.(Kinda like I could rewatch the emergency meeting in margin call with J. Irons all over again) I just cant wrap my head around how people can do this this kind of math with ease. I took advanced math in school and some of the stuff we probably even did back then but I couldnt do it nowadays. I also bought a book for rocket science few years ago but I honestly have no idea how people could ever come up with that shit. It really puts things in perspective because I dont think that I am dumb person.
Overall very inspiriational and motivational what these woman achieved during that time.

I legit donā€™t understand this. The show has a loyal following and costs ~nothing to produce, keep it going imo

If you need moar Adam Driver chitchat

Iā€™m still mad that SNL never made my Adam Driver Star Wars skit. Adam and Hannah from Girls are sitting in their Brooklyn apartment. Hannah is going on about herself and how Adam isnā€™t really there for her in their relationship. Sheā€™s so self-absorbed she doesnā€™t notice various henchmen breaking into the apartment trying to kill Adam and he takes great pains to hide bodies of force-power killed henchmen from Hannah in their cramped apartment.

Hannah, whining: ā€œYouā€™re just so preoccupied with your internship I feel like youā€™re not presentā€
Adam, annoyed: ā€œI told you itā€™s not an internship. Itā€™s an apprenticeship!ā€
Hannah rolls her eyes

COME ON! That would have killed. Dumb SNL writers, I thought they were supposed to be star wars geeks.

Sorry your skit didnā€™t make the cut, you should have gone to Harvard.

Now please enjoy a skit with a half dozen references that only someone who rides the D train to work and back every day will understand.

Although the Starkiller Base Undercover Boss sketch was pretty funny. But there was a lot they could have done with a Girls/Kylo crossover, especially if they got Lena on board. Although itā€™s pretty obscure as no one watched Girls, so fair enough I guess.

Nah Girls would be write up their alley I would think. How many NPR references have we seen over the years?

afaict fans gave the reboot high praise. Felicia Day and Patton Oswald canā€™t be that expensive. Unless Joel is burning through money to support a cocaine habit, this is an extremely cheap show to produce.

Hopefully Hulu or Prime picks up the show.

Also just to be clear I didnā€™t like submit or pitch my skit to SNL, just realized that could be read that way. Itā€™s literally just an idea I thought of and was all oh man they should totally do that. And now Iā€™m mad that those idiot SNL writers passed on my idea that I never actually told anyone about. Morons!

I thought it was a good idea. I bet if youā€™d submitted it with permission for Harvard Writer #3 to claim full credit it would have gotten green-lit.

Silicon Valley series finale was pretty good. Not great but very satisfying. Reminded me of the Veep finale in that it definitely wasnā€™t one of the funnier episodes but gave everyone a very satisfying conclusion.

Best part for me was at the critical moment Richard couldnā€™t make a decision. Gilfoyle had to decide and he decided to trust his friend. Really nice moment. Then the reveal of the two of them sitting at the same desk at their new company. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Bighead being told the origin of his nickname was amazing. Richard ending up at Stanford with bighead worked for me. Laurie in prison was great. Literally canā€™t remember what Jared ended up doing which is somehow a fitting ending for that character. Gavin stuff made me laugh. Jin-yang ending was just OK for me.

Agree I thought they nailed it.

You guys can have your fancy-pants critically-acclaimed Watchmen show, but Iā€™m watching the CW Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover extravaganza which has a subtle musical reference to the '89 Tm Burton Batman movie, a cameo by Burt Ward, and a cameo of Wil Wheaton who seems to be pulling off a very clever blink-and-you-miss-it jab at the Watchmen. Thatā€™s all within like the first five minutes of the first episode. The CW just gets nerd culture, I love it.

That sounds exhausting.

What? Jared ended up working at the old folks home. It was the perfect ending for him.
