I typically hate scary horror type movies because they aren’t really scary. Evil for all it’s cheesiness I think I saw had me a bit weirded out at times. Just sayin’ don’t say I told you Evil was good if you think it sucks. Me hating most horror shows is why I haven’t watched Haunted Hill shot yet.
Cam was fun!!!
Agree about Hush and the Sandler/Aniston cozy.
cam was a fun indie movie. probably cost $100 to make
We just got through Haunted Hill. Can’t recommend, not sure why it was so loved. Another 10 episode show that should have been done in 6-8. Carla Gugino is enchanting though.
I made it 15 minutes in to S1E1 of Fargo and said enough.
i only made it a few EP to haunted hill and never got the hype, the start is interesting, and then way too much of the kids fucking around after that. None of which were likeable really.
Ginger Snaps
Two outcast sisters must deal with the fallout after one of them is bit by a werewolf.
This one was good fun. The theme of becoming a woman wasn’t very subtle but it helped give the film some artistry rather than being a lame monster movie. Good amount of blood and gore if that doesn’t float your boat.
This is a pretty good YouTube channel for discovering lesser known horror films.
Yeah, he writes really well. A very good example of video essays done well.
In a similar vein, though not horror related, Nerdstalgic has some great video essays around television and movie topics. Here are a couple, including his most recent about the power of different types of dialogues in film, and his most popular video on why the office changed Michael Scott from S1 to S2 and how it helped the show survive.
I agree with this. Shorter shows that aren’t stuffed with as much filler are overall better, but Netflix needs to commit to giving shows that have an audience but are getting cut with some closure so that audiences won’t lose trust with Netflix and stop watching entirely for fear of being left hanging
Thank God someone is finally speaking up for the downtrodden whites on America.
Wait what? You serious? The entire original US run?
Ummmm, no.
Every show nowadays thinks it has to be a sprawling epic like The Wire. They should bring back the classic British miniseries style where shows are designed to run for only a season or two and aren’t loaded with filler and have satisfying endings.
Yes. Killing Eve S1 was great, S2 less so and S3 was one set piece yawn after another.
Silicon Valley is a 4 season show that unfortunately got stretched to 6. The firs four seasons are spectacular.
And don’t get me started on the clusterfuck that is The Walking Dead. That is a 3 season story that has stretched to 11 seasons and soon to be 3 spinoffs. Its a fucking abomination
Ill check it out. I have a soft spot for people named Mads
Just compare Netflix’s House of Cards with the original British series. It’s overloaded with side plots and it doesn’t know where it’s going.
S1-S2 was a perfect arc with a perfect conclusion.
S3 onward yes, agree with your description.
