Initially thought Burr wasn’t that bad, but upon further review think the critics are right. My colleague that thinks Trump is a moron but prefers him over Ds because of taxes, racism and sexism loves Burr for pretty much the reason the critics point out.
Burr is the Glenn Greenwald of supporting racists and sexists… technically he doesn’t support them… but 95% of what he says furthers their cause.
I have no idea what this means.
What is it about stand-up comedy that makes people flip out? Does it seem more like a pulpit speech than a book or film or tv show? Very odd.
I don’t like Bill Burr and didn’t listen to the monologue, but it sounds like they invited Bill Burr to do a monologue and he did what Bill Burr does.
Burr has trended down over time. His early material was “look at how dumb I am” and over time it shifted to “look how dumb X is” where X is usually a group of people that are not white males.
The Burr monologue was very mediocre, but Jack White performing Ball and Biscuit was really good.

Just finished watching Utopia and if you want to watch a group of mildly unpleasant people be repeatedly tortured and exposed to horrific violence by a group of extremely unpleasant people then this show is for you.
