I’m all caught up with Lovecraft Country so far. It’s quite good and the acting is really good, but it is a little hard to follow at times. Like there will be a bunch of interesting shit going on and then all of a sudden either a bunch of stuff happens really fast or a bunch of stuff is explained really fast. A couple times, my wife and I would be watching a scene and feel like we totally missed something because we have no idea what the fuck is going on.
Really, the most interesting stuff is the real world racism problems the main characters are having.
got one more EP to go to catchup but yea its great, agreed that some of the storylines build for a long while and then wrap up really quick but i haven’t been disappointed with how they have wrapped up. It has a perfect mix of historical racism stuff with the fantasy, at least so far, also it looks like there is going to be a main story weaving through the season so its not straight up anthology style.
When Homelander first enters the cabin and sees Elizabeth Shue, my spouse said wtf how is she alive? I said Homelander is sick enough that that’s probably Doppelganger and Homelander comes by every evening to pretend. I was so happy when that’s what happened!

The Social Dilemma on netflix is a nice and scary look at how social media is destroying the planet. Nothing super groundbreaking but it does have interviews with all the people who created the like and the infinite scroll telling you not to use those things.
Extremely pissed that I cannot find Class Action Park. I was told that HBO subscribers get HBOMax free of charge but whenever I click on it, it takes me to regular HBO and it’s not available there. What do?
Meanwhile Room 104 is still fun imo. I just watched the one with Gary Cole as the burned out game show host and it was nice seeing that Linda Lavin is still alive.
Also, if you subscribe to HBO via your cable provider, not all providers have made a deal with HBO to give subscribers HBO Max. I didn’t have it at first with Comcast, but they eventually got their shit together, so I now have HBO Max (I still don’t get ACC Network, though).
Checked out episode 1 of Raised By Wolves on youtube. The key to entertainment is to brace for the worst, thankfully it turned out to be merely relatively bad, say at the level of Prometheus. Not impossible that it could improve either; they do have Ragnar Lothbrok stanning for some futuristic Mithraic cult (with the Sol Invcitus emblem on their unfiroms for antiquity nerds). Nonetheless, suffers from typical tryhard pilot defects, not good enough to subscribe, but I’ve watched way worse.
Oh when you are looking for a late late Friday night watch on Netflix, and you find they are streaming Airplane! Movie still absolutely slays me when I’m in the right mood.
Yeah, this feels like a really important thing. I’d read about most of the stuff this show covered, but it distilled and combined it all in a way that beautifully connected the product with the harm.
