They’re ad-free if you buy 'em from the source.
Just watched The Laundromat on Netflix which dramatizes certain episodes related to the Panama Papers and global financial corruption generally. It’s a topic I’m very much interested in and glad Sodoberg had a highly visible cast. I also appreciate the focus on US shell companies and such.
Why start on season 2?
I’m watching the Irishman… and I gotta say, the choices they made when they deregulated trucking make a ton of sense. Once upon a time there was one entity (the teamsters union) that controlled trucking… and that was terrible for everyone who wasn’t a high level stakeholder in the teamsters union.
I’m not sure how we break big tech into literally hundreds of thousands of different competitors, but I’m open to suggestions lol.
Cause I haven’t seen s1 and I don’t think you can view s1 unless you have Hulu. Maybe on Amazon. S1 is my next goal.
The implosion/merger/buyout of like 10 streaming services is gonna be a glorious shit show. It’s probably already badly screwing up the business model of cable site, such as fees from/to content providers.
If you got ideas for shows or content, this is your chance.

Anyone watching Watchmen on HBO?
I never heard of the comic book until I started watching the series so I didn’t have any knowledge of the backstory. The show confused me as hell but it’s been a fantastic ride so far and I am really looking forward to the last two episodes.
Excellent political commentary to our current times as well.
I am now two weeks behind but will be catching up tonight. But I’m enjoying it a lot so far. I’m not quite sure I’d call it a great show, but it does certain things really well.
It kind of feels like it’s only really set up for a single season run, unless the idea is that they’ll jump around to different eras in this universe, though.
I guess I’d recommend either reading The Watchmen or catching the movie version. In a culture where we’re saturated with comic book pop culture, Watchmen had a genuinely fresh and interesting take on the superhero genre.
I listened to the official podcast with David Lindeloff and indeed it’s meant to be a single season.
I’ve been digging through the Nat Geo section of the Disney+ vaults. Still feel like they’re holding out on us; Nat Geo has been doing quality documentaries as long as I can remember, there’s no way this is all the content they have.
There are at least four different vet shows on Disney+. I’m liking Dr. Oakley: Yukon Vet. Baby Nighthawk was way, way cuter than Baby Yoda. Baby nightwawk had a severely injured wing and had to be put down. These vet shows will send you on an emotional rollercoaster; I’m not sure if I would let children watch them.
Gordon Ramsay: Uncharted is kind of a knock-off version of Anthony Bourdain. He swears a lot in a very performative way. He swears in front of children. I still like seeing the exotic food cultures regardless of how annoying Ramsay is.
Watchmen HBO show is bananas. THE BEST show of the last few years. Shocked that Lost co-dude has made 2 great shows since then. Go spend $15 on the graphic novel which is amazing outside of its pretty dated art, read it at least 3 times, and then watch this shit.
One bone at a time?
I break up Facebook like encyclopedias are…
Two words: public utilities.
As a follow up, I’m now caught up and I think the latest two episodes have been two of the strongest of the series.
Giant state owned enterprises overall track record isn’t great either.
