Loved both. Ad Astra is for people who like 2001, Drive, Arrival, and Solaris.
Gravity really needs to be seen in a theater. I once said Avatar was the best and only good use of 3D. I take that back. The crown goes to Gravity. Technically Avatar may win, but Gravity is actually a good movie.

Yea i heard Ad Astra was dogshit so i avoided it but i watched it last night and liked it alot, way better than 2001 for me lmaoooooooooo.
I’ll watch gravity but yea i remember people talking about it being a theater movie, sad. I’ve never seen avatar, probably never will.

Ad Astra’s commercials were misleading. They make it look like an exciting space action movie. It’s not. It’s very psychological and lonely.

You can tell what kind of filmgoer you are whether you were disappointed or HYPED when you discovered how different the movies were from the trailers with Drive and Ad Astra.
I wasn’t necessarily hyped, but I enjoyed the movie nonetheless.
Also, I’m so envious of Brad Pitt. He’s hot as hell and a legitimately good actor. Goddammit. Same with Bradley Cooper.

Gravity is outstanding. It’s not so much a sci-fi movie as it is an action/thriller with amazing visuals. The physics are extremely dubious, however.
