I predicted it was going to suck from the beginning, because what made the original so great was the production and post-production. The music was amazing. The cinematography was amazing. All the hyper-saturated color techniques they perfected in S2 were amazing. Neil Maskell was amazing. The way they’d just randomly open an episode with something like this was amazing:

What wasn’t amazing - what started out maybe slightly edgy and then quickly devolved into all of the most tired and dumb sci-fi tropes - was the underlying plot. And that’s the part they decided to remake.
