The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

I watched it with 10% of my attention. I just couldn’t.

I never watch anything and I just finished the first season of Dark. Thanks, guys. On to the second.

Don’t know if there are any Corporate fans here but season 3 is finally coming on July 22.

Athlete A, about the abuse of gymnasts by Nassar and USAG itself, is also brutal. Just so many people out there who had no problem mentally and physically abusing teenage girls for decades still walking around free today.

Compared to the Epstein doc, I found myself able to watch Athlete A with my full attention. I think because I followed that story with great interest and knew the survivors would see justice. Epstein still justice in progress.

#4 was the most interesting one to me. Update what you think when you finish.

Available on Hulu/Starz.

actually finished it last night, i had forgotten about it.

I’m gonna go with hate crime. Dunno what else it could be, doubt that they missed his body when they searched originally at the creek so someone moved it there after. I guess theres some possiblility that the dude had some kind of accident and they felt like it was going to look bad or something. They said there was an argument before his friend left so theres some reason to be concerned that he had made someone mad.

I’m four eps into Unsolved Mysteries. It’s not must see TV, but I kinda like watching an episode over dinner. #3 was my favorite so far. Re: episode 4:

Seems like the easiest explanation is that the cops just did a half-assed search the first time.

yea but still murder right?

Friday is better for me

Consult with the majority of people who voted for Saturday. I also would prefer Friday. I suppose we could make my vote count for however many is needed, but I worry they will then make a poll about me.

@Trolly and @00cooler00, would either of you be willing to watch on Friday instead? With @anon92450360 adding his name, that puts us at 4 vs 4. My vote can count for 2 if you won’t switch :crossed_fingers:

Im down for Friday if its better for everyone.

That being said, while I watched it and loved it last Saturday, I am in a very anti-partiotic mood, and might just end up shitting all over it, which might not be the vibe you guys are looking for.

Or it could get you fired up to take to the streets for a second revolution!

You would not be the first. The creator included.

“Hamilton the play and the movie were given to us in two different worlds & our willingness to interrogate things in this way feels like a clear sign of change,” she wrote.

“I totally get the frustration about it being a play about slaveholders that is not about slavery,” Clayton tweeted. “I’ve felt that in lots of things i watch, but i flex the same muscle i use when i listen to hip hop as a black woman. we enjoy problematic things all the time.”

Clayton added “after reading the critiques i would have appreciated more context about hamilton & slavery. but to lump it in with statues of columbus and robert e lee denies this conversation the nuance it deserves & we’re capable of giving it that.”

She also noted that “humans are flawed and messy, both the ones who lived then & the ones reading and writing about them now.”

We have switched to Friday :+1:

A new series called “Little Voices” debuts on Apple TV+ today. My friend, Sam Lazarus, is one of the supporting characters. He started as an extra in Atlanta productions, but moved out to California to try to start an acting career. From what he’s told me, he’s had a rough life, so making that leap, not knowing anybody and with basically no money or prospects, was a both a massive risk and of course a massive life change. He just jumped into the deep end, hoping his quirkiness would play better in L.A. than in Atlanta. He got a few tiny things - had a single line on AP Bio - but then got to audition for Little Voices and got the part. Had to move to NYC suddenly, again with basically nothing.

And now the dude has a legit supporting role (probably more like a tertiary character, but he’s in key scenes). Oh, and he got mentioned (positively) by name in a RogerEbert.com review.
