The Television Streaming Thread: Now With Felonies

Same, I don’t know any of the songs even though my son loves it. In stark contrast to The Book of Mormon, which I can sing every song on even though I’ve never seen a full performance.

Book of Mormon is one of my favourite theatre pieces all time. I’ve seen it 4 times.

Its funny, we bought tickets for this summer to see both Book of Mormon and Hamilton back in December. We were like “We are finally gonna go see these touring broadway shows we have wanted to see for forever.”

Then the world ended

hmm. This will probably suck, but it sounds like they’ve at least played some of the games, which is way ahead of most of the people who try to adapt games for screen

So I just learned of Pluto TV.

I also just learned that Pluto TV has a 24/7 channel showing American Gladiators.

I also just learned what I will be doing this 4th of July weekend.

Without spoiling anything I’ll just say watch out for that Aaron Burr character

Btw, this show is VERY male gazey

Mrs Swanky has been watching Warrior Nun - to my shame I’ve been enjoying it

Watching the TV version of snowpiercer loved the movie, great concept. However the tv show just seems to be devolving into a standard cop mystery type drama where the scenery happens to shake and rattle every now and then. Train stuff good, cop stuff bad, but there seems to be more cop stuff than train stuff so far.

Btw for anyone with any nostalgia for the show, they are currently running the Wesley “Two Scoops” Berry season.

Dude was just miles better at the game than anyone else.

Even after reading the Wiki on Snowpiercer I’m still confused about:

Why does the train have to keep moving?
What is the train’s power source?

The faster it goes the more power it generates. I don’t think it was written by a scientist.

The power of metaphor.

Why is DC competing against its own franchise? I don’t get it.

If it ain’t broke…

Honestly I’m not sure. Crisis on CW had a surprise cameo at the end by Ezra Miller as the film franchise Flash, so it’s not even possible for them to pretend the two universes are separate.

Having said that, even the MCU ultimately treated Agents of Shield as mostly being in its own pocket universe separate from the movies. I guess they’ve found that the audiences for both are too distinct, even when there is overlap.

Not sure this is true. There has always been a huge call from fans for crossover. I would bet it’s more for financial/production cost reasons.

Naw, 1:45 in the first nine minutes.

Tournament of Laughs on TBS is much better than I thought it would be, which was “awful”

I’ve never heard of a lot of these comics but they seem to be bringing it for the most part.

Speaking of which, this was hilarious.

I went and looked up the bracket and I’ve heard about half of them. Most of the ones I’ve heard of are funny.

Finished the first episode of Unsolved Mysteries, great nostalgia trip for me. I love that they kept the theme music and the basic look and feel of the original. In hindsight, it’s weird that there hasn’t already been a UM reboot; it’s a simple formula that doesn’t cost a lot of money to produce.

It’s weird to me that they immediately discount the idea that he could run off the rooftop and land 45 feet away? By my math, if he was sprinting at about 13 mph–not unreasonable for a man of his age and fitness-- he’d get there after a 90 foot fall. Maybe he’s clutching his phone in his hand and as he falls his body acts as a crumple zone, his phone and glasses land undamaged beside him? I can’t believe they don’t tell us how far he fell, it looks like it could be about 90 ft.
