Where did you get this, by the way?
As far as I know, this is the only place to get sumo merch in the US:
I might have to start a little side bizā¦
The sumo reddit page has a lot of overseas guys who are interested in sumo merch. NHK reporter John Gunning has a side hustle selling tegata.
Four days and counting. Possibly the last basho with both Mongolian Yokozuna still active.
If Kakuryu craps out heāll retire. Hakuho will probably yusho.
Scratch that. Kakuryu has gone kyujo yet again.
His retirement name is going to be changed to Kyujoryu.
Terunofuji has to be high on the list of favorites to take this yusho, I also think Onosho has been on a pretty good run since that incredibly shitty 2-13 basho he had last year, seems like a longshot to have back-to-back M1s ship it, though.
I got Hakuho winning one last tournament, but future yokozuna Terunofuji looks stronk as well.
According to Reddit, Kakuryu says he isnāt going to retire? Sounds like there could be some drama.
There will definitely be external pressure put on him to retire. Fans and the media are fed up, and the YDC will most certainly advise him to.
Any Japanese-born Yokozuna would see the writing on the wall, but they canāt technically force him to if he remains unswayed.
Aaaaand Hakuho is out.
Iām feeling Takayasu for the win this basho. Heāll never have an opportunity like this again.
The exiled ex-Juryo Takanofuji, twin brother of Takagenji, is kickinā ass and taking names in MMA.

Juryo is more exciting than the top division right now? Enho with an amazing comeback storyline! Looks like a completely different wrestler than the guy I saw last basho.
Also, Sleepynojo woke up? His whole style seems more aggressive and fun now, and itās working for him.
Enho pulled off a move today that hadnāt been executed in 27 years, lifting a much larger Akua up and slamming him down. He looks back to his old self. Unfortunately, Ura, who beat him yesterday, injured his calf and went kyujo. Looking forward to having them both back in Makuuchi.
It will take a massive screw up for Takayasu to lose this basho.
In in other minor sumo news, Kakuryu is retiring.
I slept on Takayasu, very strong sumo.
How is sumo covered in Japan? Does NHK show the whole thing live every day?
