I’ve started casually watching NXT again after not really watching it for almost 5 years.
Started mainly because I wanted to see what was going on prior to going to TNA Slammiversary, as there have been some crossovers (Grace, Hendry, Rascalz).
It’s fine, I guess. They’ve really put a focus on younger athletes rather than debuting the hot new Indy/Japanese star of the moment. The matches obviously aren’t as good, but it’s probably a good long term strategy.
One thing I cannot get over is the names of these people. WWE ring names are frequently bad, but I saw a 6 woman tag match that was truly next level.
It was Lola Vice, Sol Ruca and Karmen Petrovic vs. Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne and Jazmyn Nyx.
I swear I did not make those up. I guess Karmen Petrovic isn’t too bad, but the rest are absolutely horrendous. “Jazmyn Nyx” might be a top 5 worst ring name I’ve ever heard.
