The Presidency of the Joes, part II: lol documents

Reminds me of previously permabanned anachronistic aka Ray Horton et al on 2p2

Itā€™s such a perplexing statement with zero follow-up. I have absolutely no idea what theyā€™re referencing. LOL Politico.

Well, nothing to be done. Just like when the military runs low on money, they just have to make do with less. I assume.

As someone who spent a significant amount of time poor in San Antonio I can 100% confirm that line far from offending people would kill in a room full of people from San Antonio.

As a breakfast burrito lover but breakfast taco neophyte, any pro tips on breakfast tacos?

There are like five threads this could go in but I couldnā€™t find it in search.

Is there any possible redeeming angle to this likely Chad Meredith appointment? This is Biden getting played by McConnell, right?

Late to the convo on this, but I think I remember reading that these were done with those Qualtrics surveys, where you answer with sliders that are set to 50% by default and you have to drag it to your desired answer. The dumb answers come from a combination of human nature making it feel weird to slide the bar all the way down to like 2% because it seems ā€œwrongā€, and just general laziness where people are like ā€œI donā€™t have time for thisā€ and they flick the slider to some general area and click next.

Well, Dick Durbin isnā€™t aware of oneā€¦

I see some tweets speculating that the deal is that McConnell gets this judge and heā€™ll stop holding up Bidenā€™s nominations. Which, Iā€™m guessing, is a deal heā€™ll keep for a maximum of 6.5 months.

Bipartisanship is back baby!

ā€˜Centre leftā€™ party attacking the left instead of the right isnā€™t just an American tradition:

Greens too ambitious and encouraged ā€˜climate warsā€™ meanwhile climate change denialist, fossil fuel crony right wing government gets off easy

These numbers get buried butā€¦

One glimmer of good news for Mr. Biden is that the survey showed him with a narrow edge in a hypothetical rematch in 2024 with former President Donald J. Trump: 44 percent to 41 percent.

The result is a reminder of one of Mr. Bidenā€™s favorite aphorisms: ā€œDonā€™t compare me to the Almighty, compare me to the alternative.ā€ The poll showed that Democratic misgivings about Mr. Biden seemed to mostly melt away when presented with a choice between him and Mr. Trump: 92 percent of Democrats said they would stick with Mr. Biden.

In saying they wanted a different nominee in 2024, Democrats cited a variety of reasons, with the most in an open-ended question citing his age (33 percent), followed closely by unhappiness with how he is doing the job. About one in eight Democrats just said that they wanted someone new, and one in 10 said he was not progressive enough. Smaller fractions expressed doubts about his ability to win and his mental acuity.

Most Democrats are not going to sit out the election if Biden is the nominee again, even if they think Dems can do better. The people who say they will are mostly either lying to others or lying to themselves. There are some people who will follow through, but they will probably be cancelled out by people who decide to come back to voting because they canā€™t risk what will happen if they sit out again.

99% chance that Mitt Romneyā€™s consultants are pitching to him that this is his big chance to get back in the ring.
