MLK wasn’t literally out leading the charge for segregated schools in his home state. Quite the opposite.
I mean you don’t know what his views are. Neither do I. You were trying to say he wasn’t a segregationist. He definitely was and was a leader of the Dem party on that issue 50 years ago.
Now yes maybe his views have changed but his actions in office aren’t exactly definitive by any stretch. Deporting record amount of Haitians, locking up more brown kids than Trump. Not just zero progress, but zero effort on really any issues that affect minorities tell me at best it isn’t a priority to work on those things.
If I wanted to tank the country, I’d try to piss off Manchin enough to make him switch parties and hand control of the Senate to Republicans. I would try to alienate black voters by breaking a campaign promise to nominate a black woman to the Supreme Court. (Establishment Democrats act like black voters are more important to the party than white progressives.)
Biden was put in power by people who desperately want to believe that all you need to do is put some competent bureaucrat in power and everything will go well because America is some well-oiled machine that was temporarily gummed up by an outlier Republican. Because they don’t want to face the idea that America is actually broken on some fundamental level, they have to believe that Biden must actually be an incompetent bureaucrat as the solution to cognitive dissonance.

And after that he became known as the Senator from MBNA and led the charge on a bankruptcy bill so pro lender that Elizabeth Warren still hates him for it. Joe Biden is a pill they made us swallow at gunpoint stop defending him. He was the third worst candidate in the field ahead of Bloomberg and Tulsi.

How would the Senate being 51-49 Republican be much different? Maybe fewer judges confirmed but that doesn’t seem to be happening much in 2022 anyways?
If you think that Joe Biden currently meets the definition of what a segregationist is then I don’t know what to say.
Mislabeling people like this also moves the overton window and completely destroys the meaning of the word for the actual segregationists.
There are a zillion ways to correctly criticize his presidency without incorrect hyperbole.
It really is amazing how someone pointing out a single point objectively somehow translates to defending every shitty thing about that person.

Being anti-school integration doesn’t make someone a segregationist? It seems like the definition. And he didn’t just hold the views. He was actively working towards it as the face of the movement in his state.

The thing you have to remember about Biden is that he’s a man totally without personal principles. You can tell this is the case because he is always withing 5nm of whatever the mean Democratic position is (this is right of center). Once upon a time that meant being a segregationist.
It’s important to note that almost everyone who thrived in politics from 1975-present is/was a piece of shit. Why? For the same reason that all cops are bastards. Because good people who wanted to do good work got pushed out by careerists looking exclusively for personal gain. Biden is a creature of this era and all that comes with that.

Fair. I’m not rooting for the Dems to lose the majorities or for Trump 2024 or anything so I can dig it.
I’m more saying that what Biden is doing will make those things happen.
I don’t think this is exactly right. He isn’t trying to advance those goals. He just isn’t doing anything at all to stop them. Subtle difference that doesn’t mean much in the end.
