Bidenās handling of immigration drives me nuts at every turn. First of all because itās one of the easiest things to address through the executive, and simply requires having a shred of humanity and decency. Second because of the incredible amount of suffering weāre inflicting. Third because it impacts the person I love most somewhat directly. Fourth because I had almost universally low expectations for Biden and the one area that I thought for sure heād be a slam dunk on was improving the situation at the border markedly over Trump.
I didnāt expect him to be amazing on it, but I thought weād utilize a bit of decency.
Fifth because itās going to be my most important voting issue in 2024, and my options will be him or slightly worse than him, so I will not have an option to improve it.
Fuck Joe Biden.

Iām sweet summer child hoping that progressives have enough and primary Biden. Otherwise Iām not voting for this mess in 2024. Wouldnāt in a swing state either.

I expected him to be mediocre to bad.
Heās been an absolute train wreck. Hes basically George H W Bush.
Yeah, itās hard to know what to be most enraged by in todayās world but the border situation was so incredibly and deliberately and transparently inhumane and for many this was a key issue, and Biden has done basically zero.
With the caveat that I could well change my mind by 2024 and bc of where I live it doesnāt really matter anyway, I have no intention of supporting him again.

Under Biden we have 70 percent more people in ICE detention and new robot dogs for the border. He hasnāt done anything but make it worse.
The Dems have never been remotely okay on immigration. Theyāre better than Republicans in that theyāre against child separation and pro-DACA and against some of the more extreme Steven Miller policies, but theyāre still not going to ever disband ICE or come close to fixing US immigration policy.
The Biden administrationās plan to piss off absolutely everyone one is bold, letās see if it pays off.
