The Presidency of the Joes, part II: lol documents

AOC needs to speak on the floor and talk about how the gop is instituting policies that will destroy democracy and how manchin and cinema are cowards and will be remembered in history as the people who failed this country

This will help Manchin convince people in WV heā€™s doing a good job. I donā€™t know whether that means heā€™ll conclude he pushed hard enough or that heā€™s free to push harder.

Why is Sinema wearing a potato sack and running shoes?

because sheā€™s talking to her two sugar daddies

I doubt manchin is running again and if he does heā€™s going to lose

I mean he was big mad about the Bernie op Ed

Should just blast him on the Senate floor. At least itā€™ll be in the history documentary about America becoming fascist and you will look like a hero

SALT deduction capped at $72,500 in new House version, which is really high but way better than before.

THATā€™S SOCIALISM!!!

Here I am thinking the SALT reduction is worth like $20k at the most for people. Really didnā€™t fathom that people are paying over $72k in property taxes, but I was stupidly not thinking of the uber wealthy that this affects.

Silly me and my $5k in property taxes.

I was under the impression that the SALT deduction included state income taxes as well? Property taxes could easily be dwarfed by income taxes on higher earners.

Yeah its property and state taxes.

Manchin also said today the bill needs to consider the US is a center-right country.

The slog continues, hard to see how this gets done before the end of '21 given the December must-pass items and a plethora of recesses. House going to vote on both bills today and tomorrow, supposedly, but Manchin sounds nowhere close.

Impossible for me to reach any conclusion other than 2 Democratic Senators affirmatively wanting Republicans to control the government.

Looks like for some reason Pelosi is going to try and run the call a vote then walk it back play again.

My cardiologist says I could use a SALT deduction! Hey-yoooo!

right now it looks like the house itself would tank it rather than joe they gotta get that shit straight

I realize sheā€™s stuck in a fucked up spot everywhere but damn. You got enough moderates who wonā€™t vote for X, enough progs who wonā€™t vote for Y, and Joe Manchin whoā€™s all lol dgaf what the house does and Sinema who dgaf about anything at all

The best thing to do if they are going to straight cave on BIF, which it seems like theyve decided they are doing, is just pass a BBB bill that will pass the House and stop worrying about Joe Manchin and the Senate. Moderates seem like they are going to dictate the timing and process to some degree, and they will get their SALT reform, but other than that but keep going down the add paid leave path, put popular items back in. I think they are silly to pass BIF, but if this is the way it is going to be pass a good BBB bill in the House so that its up to Manchin to actually put pen to paper to something he will support. At least we can take the focus off the interminable how can we pay for this and move on to actually focusing what policies Manchin is scrapping from the bill so it isnt ā€œthose dreamy progressives fucking things upā€ and instead ā€œManchin cuts paid leaveā€.

I do realize this is arranging deck chairs at this point.

I genuinely have no idea what house progressives are doing.

Indefensible

Itā€™s disgusting how much power Manchin has to fuck the future.
