The Presidency of the Joes, part II: lol documents

I think Dems gain more if they propose some sort of legalization bill that gets blocked by Republicans, driving single-issue voters to the poll to vote against the GOP.

Think about how Republicans exploit the abortion issue. Democrats can do the same with weed so long as they can hold out the carrot of future marijuana bills that need to be passed.

They’re not gonna legalize it until they are in power, lets them get bribed to pick the winners.

Don’t worry guys, John Boehner will make some important phone calls and get it done.

Can’t the Dems just bribe Manchin? Promise him an Air Force base in Wheeling or something in exchange for the voting rights bill. He’s got American democracy by the balls, ask what his price is.

Caption contest!

They agreed to $3.5T, which is legitimately great news. Let’s see if it actually passes.

Is the 3.5 trillion number new? Like they just came out and said this?

OK, now let’s practice our curtsies. It’ll be great!

Allegedly this is the size of the reconciliation bill and all 50 are on board.

A balanced budget and the coal industry being saved forever and even expanded.

Legalizing weed would be immensely popular with voters and also would be the right thing to do, so ofc Dems are not ever going to make that happen. Probably the Republicans will realize they can eat the Democrat’s lunch by going pro-pot and totally run the tables.

Very, very, very unlikely. During the last budget reconcilliation process, the parliamentarian said that a $15 minimum wage provision couldn’t be included, and weed seems even less “budget related.”

Among all the people I know irl I’d guess M4A is the only issue that moves anyone from not voting D to voting D. I know a few people who would think legalization is cool, but it wouldn’t get them to bother voting. (M4A would be different people) (there are other theoretical issues, but not anything like realistic possibilities)

There’s like literally a million casual bros who don’t follow politics at all but would get excited over legalizing weed. They’d definitely peel off a bunch of Rogan listeners, hell they might get Rogan himself on board the Kamala train.

Healthcare is an ENORMOUS issue for everyday people. Dems of course have a lock on this issue but they never talk about it because they’re fucking terrible at politics.

No one switching from R to D. It’s all people either not voting or voting peace and freedom or something.

Well, also because they are bought and paid for by health insurance companies and big pharma (lolol Manchin’s daughter was literally the epipen villain CEO).

I’m just saying the pot smokers I know who don’t vote, still are not voting.

I would guess the prison industry is the #1 force keeping cannabis illegal.
