The Presidency of the Joes, part II: lol documents

I don’t have words for how enraging it is so see this play out. The contrast here is pretty illuminating.

Joe is never going to be the guy who steps on the toes of some other infrastructure and say they are wrong. It’s not who he is, unfortunately.

I’m not sure if you could have picked a sillier reason to pick joe

Yeah sure, his stance on SS and the crime bill he helped pass would be it I suppose, at least I gave him time to show himself again which a lot on the left don’t get.

Schumer has to navigate a 50-50 Senate that will be perpetually at risk. Pelosi has a much safer House, all the money and achieved everything she ever will, yet she still neither has done anything remarkable lately nor let’s go of the reins. She is also out of touch and insider trades.

More than that, she ruthlessly uses the party leadership to try and stomp out any progressive primary runners. Well she has a couple times, even going against one of her own " rules "

I’m going to say it ain’t going to happen. You have to have 50 some odd people flee the state without being detected and then remain out of the state for some long period of time.

I don’t like chuck either but this year has shown signs of him understanding the situation we are at in. I think he just sucks at his job.

Joe sucks massively but still better than expected.

So what’s going on here ? If you aren’t in the state they can’t pass a bill? Some weird specific Texas legislature rule?

At least there are some Dems willing to fight

Huh I didn’t see that coming

A) Enough members left that the legislature will not have a quorum. Different legislatures might have slightly different rules, but the basic principle is that a certain number of members have to be present in order to pass bills.

B) I think the reason they leave the state is that if they stayed in the state, local law enforcement could actually be ordered to get them and bring them to the legislature. Jurisdictional issues get much murkier once they cross state lines.

Let’s not make a habit of putting every democratic lawmaker on the same plane please

Iron law of politics, if they’re mad it’s good and if they’re really mad it’s really good (also that’s a bus bro)

Oh so now Texas Republicans are against fleeing the state. They need to make up their mind already.

So you are saying Prince Charles is really GenX?

Who’s the dweeb who brought one (1) case of shit beer for 51 legislators? You’re playing hookey, live a little, for god’s sake.

USA USA USA America beer (I think who can keep track of all the mergers, Wikipedia says owner Molson Coors is based on Chicago. Didn’t the South Africans own Miller at one point?)

Pretty sure 3-4 companies control the entire beer market

The entire terrible beer market. The good beer market has lots of small players.
