I guess the fact that the fed is supposed to be independent and all previous presidents refrained from discussing monetary policy with the head of the federal reserve didn’t hit you.

Iowa shouldn’t be in that map if for no other reason than you can remove it and still have 270 and win. Even 269 is a win because the Democrats control the House.
Going to be the bearer of bad news here, but the house doesn’t decide the presidency the way you think the house decides the presidency. It’s like monumentally stupid the way they decide the presidency and the democrats having control of the house doesn’t mean that they have an advantage with the way it’s structured, the republicans do.
Edit: To clarify —, it’s not a majority vote. Each state delegation votes amongst themselves, and then each state gets one vote. There are, by my count, more republican controlled state delegations than democratic ones because of all the flyover states and gerrymandering, even though the dems have more congresspeople. Also it’s the new congress that decides, but this is assuming that it doesn’t change much.

Trump’s schedule is empty again today. The only thing on it is lunch with Pence. Whitehouse forced a Trump’s doctor to release a oddly worded statement saying he did not undergo specific testing.
My Dads from Iowa so I’ve been there a good bit. It’s a different type of voter than the other states. Iowa is just Iowa I don’t know how to explain it. I don’t think it’s super unrealistic though to lose PA but win Michigan Wisconsin and AZ

Sort of related, but I’m beginning to think the President should just be chosen by national lottery. Place greater restrictions and oversight on his power, then just draw a name from a hat.

As someone who lives in Iowa, I believe Iowa is definitely in play. That said, Minnesota and Wisconsin should both be more likely pickups. No matter who the nominee is, they need to spend time campaigning in these three states.
