It’s literally one poster that takes every conversation to this point. How many times does it have to happen before as a community we do something. It’s time for a containment thread.
FTR JT i think you are right on point but nun isn’t arguing in good faith or from a malleable point of view. He never is.
I don’t agree with you. You’re telling me things are one way, and I’m telling you they’re the other. You’re speaking for disengaged people like you know everything. The polls on impeachment moved massively starting in September (close to 20 points within a matter of weeks and have remained steady). The GOP talking points have landed flat at every step of the way. Yet, you’re telling me nothing’s happening and saying that the GOP talking points are landing. Again, they are not. You’re not right, I don’t agree with you and no matter how much you yell at me about how you feel is going to change that.
Here’s the ratings from yesterday:
It beat out Mueller’s testimony by 100,000 viewers. The day after Mueller’s testimony the news all said game over and dropped impeachment like a rock. Yet with the same ratings, it’s the top story or near top story everywhere that dropped it previously. The reason is because those are big ratings. So when I’m saying you’re spewing, I’m saying you’re dedicating a lot of words to things that are not lining up to reality. Sorry.
If every third post in every thread wasn’t his bs then it would be easier. I agree with you ignoring it is best but it’s hard to do when every convo is dominated by this crap.
Not to mention you cant ignore him, his profile is hidden. Presumably so he can’t be made fun of for his post count or terrible ratio.
My potentially hot take is that Sinclair is way worse for America than Fox News.
Anyone watching Fox News at this point is gone, they’re actively seeking out a daily dose of mainline DERP. However, there are like tens of millions of olds and old-adjacents (seriously like 10x as many people as are watching FNC, at least) who watch these absolutely horrid local news programs without realizing they are right wing propaganda. These folks tend to be not too bright, but they are by and large not obviously horrible people, and importantly, THEY VOTE.
Wouldn’t be a surprise. I didn’t see Avatar or Titanic either.
FYI about TV ratings for impeachment:
Fox News: 2.9 million viewers
Everyone else not including PBS/C-SPAN: 10 million viewers
The shows:
Fox News highest rated: 4.426 million viewers (Hannity)
MSNBC highest rated: 3.631 million viewers (Maddow)
CNN highest rated: 1.572 million viewers (Tapper)
5.2 to 4.4 million for everyone over Fox News. Does anyone think Fox News is going to sway anything with their viewers? Basically 1 out of every 5 viewers was Fox News (and I’m sure they still showed all the testimony), and about 43 percent of people who got their news on impeachment via shows got it from Fox News.
I mean that’s the genius of convincing 100m Americans that the media is mostly a left wing conspiracy. You can run your side’s media as an actual partisan conspiracy and get away with being “fair and balanced” to the mouthbreathers.
YES. Odo was an incredible character, and IDGAF how much of it was done for fan service, bringing in Worf was a GOAT decision.
I got to talk with Cirroc Lofton/Jake Sisko ten or so years ago after one of the teeny tiny panels at the end of a convention. He’s still a young man, but he was really young back then in his early 30s. He was so level headed, and he said they wrote Jake as a writer and journalist because Cirroc dreamed of being a writer himself.
He talked a little about the premise for an episode he kept encouraging the writers to do, but it never happened. I wish I remembered the premise. I think I still have coverage notes somewhere. Crossing my fingers I put down anything about that.
Perhaps it’s time for a Trek thread? Assuming someone doesn’t okay boomer me with a link to an already existing thread
Apple News is a pretty substantial news gateway where tens of millions of people receive breaking news and primary news alerts. It certainly reaches more people than most of the publications who use Apple news and more so than places like MSNBC.
Since we’re talking about ‘the record’ this is what started where you went. It’s a nothing post, but you turned it into this. It’s almost like Apple News is choosing what they want people to read, since they could have chosen the other article that was the most read on Politico to highlight…hmm. Maybe your problem shouldn’t be with Politico but with…Apple News.
