At this point, whenever I see an older white man or a bleached blonde middle-aged woman around here, I just automatically assume they are Trump supporters and I move away.
Since I live in Calabama, that means pretty much everyone.

Yeap I feel you 100%. I’m surrounded by this. I don’t even try and understand it. It’s pointless. I drove myself nuts about it up until about 6 months ago. I just do what I can and let the idiots be idiots.
Roger Stone’s case hinging substantially on an appropriate reading of The Godfather part 2 has got to be up there with the most surprising yet inevitable twists this season

Interesting stuff. It wasn’t so much that people stopped staying - occupancy was flat YoY - but they had to cut rates, but not as much as I would have suspected.
The real hit was people clearly stopped having meeting/weddings/parties there as F&B revenue was way down.
They also have a pretty shitty rooms profit margin, and didn’t cut any A&G despite revenues taking a hit.
Overall it’s not as awful as I would have thought. 18% GOP margin for a “luxury” resort with low occupancy and a lot of F&B is bad, but not comically so.

If the president was elected by popular vote you’d be right. But an extra 10 million votes in California and New York won’t offset all the racist deplorables who are triggered and vote in the middle of the country and in the Midwest.
