I’m going to slightly disagree with this take. From everything I’ve read, it looks like Zelenskyy had agreed to the quid pro quo (Taylor made it very clear to Zelenskyy’s people that if that aid wasn’t released by September 30 it would be gone forever), and was preparing to do a public statement about investigations right after the funding was released (an interview on CNN scheduled for September 13). The statement didn’t happen because the two senators (not related to the interview) and especially Bill Taylor appeared to have talked his people out of him doing the interview.
In this case (and maybe only in this case) I think Noonan is right - but only because Bolton, who would have cheerfully started WW 3 if he got the chance, can really fuck with Trump. Enemy of my enemy is my friend, and all that.

I’ve always been of the opinion that attempted murder should not be on the books. No reward for incompetence.

Guys, you can’t impeach him for doing the impeachable crimes because he’s really bad at doing the impeachable crimes and failed to successfully carry out the impeachable crimes all the way to their fruitful end. It’s a total with hunt, you see, because every time he breaks the law, he ultimately fails to carry out his ultimate impeachable criminal act.
Just wait until he succeeds in committing impeachable crimes to totally subvert democracy and the will of the people, then if you win the next election after that you can impeach him then.

It’s a near lock that they used the cheapest materials possible so that the profit margin for the grifters was as high as possible so that the grifters had as much as possible built in to donate to Trump and the GOP to secure the contracts.
I’m surprised the wall isn’t built out of repurposed soda cans from a recycling bin.

I would love nothing better than a headline, preferably right after a humiliating 2020 Trump defeat, about huge sections of the wall collapsing and the rest being declared too dangerous to let stand.
