The Presidency of Donald J. Trump v5.0: ORANGE Gettin' PEACHed, Nation Goes PEANUT BUTTER & BANANAS

Tweeting his way through is absolutely the right move politically. As long as he doesn’t lose the base that can unseat GOP Senators, he’s good.

I mean, did anyone really think otherwise? He lies about EVERYTHING.

It’s clear that they have Trump dead to rights on this Ukraine thing, and while it’s a bad look (I mean I’m sure it’s a violation of the Constitution but I mean to average person it will just look like regular level corruption), I’m starting to get the feeling that Republicans and even voters will eventually not have a problem waving it off. I think getting the rest of the calls off the super secret server is essential to show a pattern of Trump undermining national security and interests. Like eventually the response on Ukraine is “That’s all you got?”, right?

Just heard Ali Velshi say that Eisenberg went to a deputy to ask for counsel about what to do with what Vindman told him about the call. After that meeting, Eisenberg made the document hiding suggestion. I’m guessing the deputy who gave Eisenberg the advice is Michael Ellis. If he shows up, it’s gonna be liiiiiit.

If Eisenberg is smart (lol), he’ll show up to not let that deputy talk first.

Yup. They need more than Ukraine. Though nice to see republican support down 13 points in abc poll.

Don’t think this is up to date anymore, but quoting it because it’s so well organized.

Rick Perry was added but said he refuses to turn over materials or testify.

Democrats have to drive home the fact that Trump took the side of Russia yet again in their invasion of Ukraine by withholding military aid which had been approved by Congress and signed off on by the President. He put innocent lives and certainly the freedom of an allied country at risk by cowering again to the Russians and by wanting a phony investigation meant to smear his political opponent. He blackmailed an ally straight up. He takes the side of Russia at every turn and shits on our allies with every opportunity. Quit saying “Quid pro quo” which Joe Sixpack won’t understand and make Trump out to be nothing more than a Russian slappy.

FYI, here’s a really good version of the impeachment calendar from the Washington Post and it’s not hidden behind a paywall:

I heard some Trump slappy on the radio today say that since the Ukraine aid was ultimately released within the window specified by Congress, no harm was done so no big deal. I don’t see that argument gaining any traction but who knows.

Like, no shit dude, it was released as soon as reporters started asking questions about the obvious shakedown.

Evolution of the GOP in my lifetime, from shining city on a hill to attempted crimes are not crimes

You just took your rose colored glasses off. Sorry man.

Seems like a great grift to get in on. Just claim you have an insider pipeline. Most clients aren’t going to expect face-to-face meetings with the real insiders, so you just lead them on and drain money.

I feel like Eisenberg is in a horrible position given his actions. He risks criminal charges, loss of law license etc etc in the long run. Will be interesting if he tries to help himself by participating or if he hopes he can stonewall his way through it.

If the WB complaint would have been turned over when it should have been, the aid wouldn’t have been released by then. That would have been nucular. But, of course, we would know nothing about anything that happened if the acting DNI had just followed protocol.

Trump, Eisenberg, and Sondland are the most exposed so far (there are a number of lesser exposed but still pretty exposed people). A number of different people reported wrongdoing to Eisenberg. He decided it was best to cover all of that up based on all the reporting I’ve seen so far. They were revving the bus to run him over probably over a month ago, but it didn’t stick. It’s sticking now, but because he can’t physically put the documents on the server there is an accomplice who is very high in the national security chain. It is for sure not Bolton, Coats, or Vindman. Whoever that person is will be the star witness. I really hope it’s not Sue Gordon. That would really revise the narrative in an unexpected way.

As I said, Eisenberg really does not want his deputy testifying before him. And they’ve set it up that Eisenberg can’t know until after his ‘scheduled’ deposition whether the deputy will appear. Based on reporting I saw that Eisenberg got this dude’s counsel, I wouldn’t be willing to take the gamble that the deputy won’t appear. Would you?

I for sure think that Eisenberg should be disbarred. I think he should also go to jail. But that’s just me based on the evidence I’ve seen so far.

I really hope senate republicans take this disastrous misstep and go with “Yeah it was Quid pro quo, so what?” It would be amazing. Alas it probably will not happen.

Although it is funny to read how many of them say Quid pro quo is used in Foreign Policy all the time. Nobody is arguing the contrary. The problem is when half the equation is not to the benefit of the US but only the president himself.

That is adios on 22 position. It is laughable. The only reason aid was released was because the report surfaced.
