The televised hearings were what really got the public behind the Watergate impeachment and also what turned them off from the Iran Contra scandal. idk if the stakes are as high with today’s media though.

What Democrats need out of hearings is a money shot. Their only audience is the public, and methodically building a devastating legal case isn’t going to mean shit. I’m not sure they get this. The GOP definitely does.

This is what worries me about a public impeachment hearing. You’ll get assholes like Gaetz and Jordan to yell and scream. That will control the narrative and produce sound bites for the networks.
