As the Commander in Chief, his 1st job is to be there when the shit goes down. Not being there would be dereliction.
Running an operation within missile range of god knows how many countries troops. If something goes very sideways, probably helpful to have the President around if another country needs contacting.
As for OBL raid vs this, OBL was in an allied country, without informing them beforehand. That took huge stones.
This raid was within a lawless zone.

There’s one close up of his face when he realizes what’s happening that is amazing.
I’ve long been a bit concerned I would feel sympathy for him if and when he’s finally humiliated. That concern is gone, pump it right into me, literally haven’t felt that happy in months.
