It won’t end up passing, seems like a really dumb bill to get behind at this point and time and will likely cost them support. Not to a large extent but enough to be an issue.
If they want to follow trump into the ground I support it but taking a heavy public stand against facts is pretty bold.
Websites have safe harbor protections as part of the DMCA. It protects them from being liable for user generated content.
It alone is hugely responsible for the way the internet has grown over the last twenty five years. No website could remain operational without those protections.
The whole concept of this threat is weird as it directly violates the first amendment but lol SCOTUS.
