I’m obviously guessing, but I’m reading it that they can vote on secret ballot. Later in the journal phase, if 1/5 of the Senators want the secret matter to be uncovered it will be. It would be something that would come out later, not at the time of the event in my reading (that could be wrong).

Yeah, but obviously a record of who voted what must be maintained so as not to impinge upon the rights of the 20%. It also makes a point of “those present”, which seems to imply that a vote on making it public would likely be taken at the same point in time.
I’ll admit I’m assuming the journal is updated pretty regularly.

I suppose if he can get people to doubt that shall means shall, or to think that it’s totally cool for Turkey to bomb U.S. troops, then anything is possible, but if he can brand impeachment as unconstitutional that will get a tip of the cap from me.

I assume they know, or are fairly confident they know, who the WB is. The person probably raised a fuss before turning FB, and with Deplorables at the head of every agency, they probably had to go through a Trumpkin or two. They probably haven’t released the name yet because they’ve got one semi-competent lawyer who told them that would be ultra-mega-impeachment with a sternly-worded letter from Nancy.
