On the other hand, Pence may overextend himself throwing haymakers due to the state of the race, and he could do about as much damage to their ticket as a VP debate possibly can.

Pence’s best play is to hope Trump dies because then he possibly pulls even with Biden or Harris. Pulling a Trump act isn’t going to do that. Coming across as calm and measured while he spews republican talking point lies is. Pence is a politician and he’ll have no problem pulling this off.
