SNL open was awful, turned it off after 4 minutes because I got bored and saw the clip was 13 minutes long.
Tina Fey as Sarah Palin was fun I guess, and so was Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer, but pretty much everything else has been just unbelievably awful since they hit a home run with Will Ferrell as W.

SNL criticism is one of my favorite genres. It’s always done by people who don’t watch a whole lot of it (spoiler: no one does, myself included), it always looks back fondly to a better era of SNL (usually like 10-15 years earlier) ignoring that everyone back then also criticized it at the time while comparing it to its former glory (which has always been reduced in our memories to a few great skits/characters and shaded by the members who went on to do funny things after).
In any case, Baldwin’s bit is getting old (but so is Trump’s tbf) but it was pretty fun to watch Jim Carrey imo.

Most of the SNL political stuff is pretty bad. Just obvious, uncreative jokes. Jim Carrey was good and the last part when he paused Trump was funny, but that’s it.
Episode was pretty good through Weekend Update. After that, not a single laugh.

I’m pretty skeptical of all this video editing stuff. The networks have professional editors and they aren’t talking about this. If it were a thing it would be everywhere as it’s right in their wheelhouse involving video and all.
