No way will he step down especially so close to the election. Maybe if Trump wins the election, he resigns, Pence becomes POTUS and chooses a VP

Putin pulled the same thing in (I think) 2005 when he became left the PM position. He became president and had some puppet be PM while Putin called all the shots. The puppet set up all the tools to allow Putin to rule forever.
I mean thereās no limits on VP terms, right? What stops him from running for VP every four years until he dies?

The VP has to be constitutionally eligilble to serve as president. If he is re-elected as President he can never serve as VP.
If he resigns before inauguration then he only served one term so can still be eligible
Then he becomes vp for as long as his ticket gets voted in.

I think weāve done this already, but the 22nd amendment only says that if he has been President twice, then he canāt be elected again. Itās not unambiguous about someone being elected as President twice and then being unable to serve as VP and then take over if the President leaves, dies, resigns, etc.
If they gonna have a rally then they need a rally monkey.
