how is it such a bad election when you take over 2/3 branches of government when you had 0.5/3?
Democrats have to take on the gerrymandering of the past decade or so. Do that with the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and they could be in much better shape.

Against Trump it should have been a blowout. Republicans are doing astonishing well with working-class Latinos, all the work Dems put into winning the Midwest just barely paid off. Texas isn’t turning purple any time soon. There isn’t going to be Trump fucking up a pandemic next time. Dems just do not win against a semi-competent candidate next time around without major changes.

I’d have to double check, but I believe there’s a massive presidential incumbent advantage for presidents that extends to congress.
Regardless, you’re not going to be able to sell me on this being a ‘bad’ election for dems when they take a trifecta.

It was a blowout. 7 million vote margin. Democrats represent over 30 million less people in the senate. The answer is structural reform. If democrats don’t do it they deserve to lose.

Holy moly. This looks like hard evidence of militia coordination. No doubt investigators must check whether they can link any of these people to any elected official, particularly with regard to the “reconnaissance groups” in the capitol the day before the insurrection.

Best thing to get rid of the totally outdated and racist electoral college.
I said it before but god I want to just be able to belly up at the bar and laugh at these people to their face for this bullshit. No violence other than verbal murder.

LOL Thomas Friedman with some advice for Dems going forward: Stop talking about Democratic Socialism, stop Cancel Culture and PC Police, and start talking about growing the pie instead of redistributing the pie because that stuff’s out of control on college campuses. Is there like a giant lizard we can feed him to or something?
