They were WAY weaker in early 2009 and look what happened.
I’d say they are favorites to sweep in 2024:
- Presidency: Biden is going to be 107 years old, and probably will have sucked for the most previous 4 years.
- House: Thanks to how awful the Democrats did in downballot races in 2020, Republicans are going to have a lot of control over redistricting.
- Senate: Do not look at that map. Holy shit.

Yeah, people forget how bad the 2020 election results were for Dems. R’s will spend the next four years whitewashing their image and making it socially acceptable for guys like awval to call themselves Republicans. Meanwhile Harris will run on four years of a completely uninspiring Biden presidency and the growing progressive wing will stay home again.

I think we’re missing some important details here. Didn’t Trump say that he was going to have the players come despite the fact that Govt was shut down and he was going to pay for the meal himself. Apparently that meal was the best that Trump the Billionaire could offer.
Feels like decades ago, so I may not have remembered correctly.
