Nah, I got it, I’m sure others did too. Parody is basically impossible right now though.

everyone knew who trump was going in, who would that be now?

nytimes now has up to two dozen republican congresscritters voting yes on impeachment tomorrow morning. I… did not have that on my 2021 bingo card.

this is great for 2022 too, because the eRep might be trying to disown maga, but they have like 50? 80? 100? republican house reps who are 100% truly maga. they don’t even have anywhere to pivot.

Jr

Even if they don’t know what he looks like they’ll recognise the name.

I mean… good? If we have to choose between the insane wing of the republican party and the evil wing, i’ll take the evil wing any day.

I don’t understand the politics of it. Impeachment in the house was never in doubt, but how will this effect the senate side of the chamber? Is conviction even possible?

Also, how great is it that Trump can’t tweet about these defections? He’s gotta be absolutely tormented he has no platform to lash out

I wouldn’t go that far lol. Nobody who voted to reject the electors 6 days ago is voting to impeach tomorrow.

jr isn’t a lunatic he may try though he’s pretty similar don’t get me wrong but I don’t think he’s gonna stare into a solar eclipse

Fair point.

I’ve also been thinking the last couple days that the Trump silencing on social media helps the party a ton. Harder for people to see and remember what an absolute loon the GOP supported and enabled when you’re not being bombarded daily by the WOAT tweets.

If Mitch tells Trump it’s over, does he resign or force them to vote? I think the latter. Still very skeptical of removal.

Maybe this will force what’s left of the R party to come back to sanity to woo the suburban wine moms back.

Then they can get back to their sweet spot of being terrible abroad, getting rich off corporate corruption, destroying the environment, and oppressing minorities a little less bombastically than Trump.

“I was voting out of my deep concern for election security, not in support of Trump.”

apparently Jan 6th was about 8k trmpers. i suppose on Jan 20th there will be more guns, but fewer people. and a lot more national guard and police, who will all be carrying.

Someone I read said the impeachment doesn’t necessarily prevent Trump from running again? That would suck.

The fact that he can’t punish these reps by tweet is probably part of the calculus going on in their heads on supporting this.

They probably want them in jail on the lesser charge while they investigate the more serious charge?
