The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode XIV: T-minus 97 Hours

Trump is done. I don’t think anyone here thinks otherwise. What we fear are millions of heavily armed radicalized Americans with a massive amount of grievances who fully believe they are “losing their country”.

Kisses to you too :)

i think they have tons of national guard there now that will be armed, i still agree with riverman just don’t have a big ceremony outside but whatever

Dude.

Arresting a bunch of criminals does not make you the same as those criminals. Ugh

Honestly, I don’t know who’s responsible for the security situation on inauguration day, the outgoing president or the new one?

It looked like a lot more than 12 the other day. I think your going to need a bigger boat.

If there are any intelligent organizers among Y’all Qaeda (questionable!), they will realize the inauguration is going to be untouchable and use the opportunity to strike somewhere else instead. Things are going to get real ugly if they find leadership that understands they need to fight a guerilla war.

Yea, I don’t believe this at all. At most 5,000 people showed up in DC on the 6th to protest the steal. Out of those 5K, maybe 25-50 were in on the actual coup. It’s clear that they used MAGA as a shield. Keep in mind 100 million Americans live within a day’s drive. Trump was asking people to come days before it happened and got maybe 1/10th of what he was expecting or hoping for.

I live in rural TN, currently in rural NC, and haven’t seen a Trump flag in 2 weeks. The only thing I’ve seen is old billboards that were put up before the election. With social media clamping down on Trump, he has jumped the shark. Like you said, he’s done. MAGA ain’t rallying around Pence or Mitch. And these people have always felt aggrieved.

Why would tens of thousands do this? They didn’t show up when Trump had his Stop the Steal rally and asked them to show up.

IMO trump is far from done. trump is not done until he says he’s done. He now has an army. The other day could have just been him testing the waters to see what the resistance was. There was minimal.

Half his base is calling them Patriots and the other half is calling them rioters. He is still their president and they plan on falling his orders.

The polling is mega heavy against the events of the other day as well right?

You do have to be actively not dumb/somewhat smart to realize that you can’t storm the Capitol just because the goddamn POTUS tells you to. He is the freaking President after all and we have been told our whole lives that he has awesome powers in this country.

So do think insurrectionists aren’t going to have much soft cover anymore, will be pretty much outright terrorists doing the deeds going forward.

9% were pro-riot. That’s 30 million people.

eh, makes more sense on that date because it’s official

and they’re trying for a million man maga march

but some of his base turned because he told them biden would be president, so there’s that

That is a good point and might be a deterrent to some or most of them.

Everyone remotely associated with Trump has radioactive maga stink on them. The dead enders are in bright red districts who don’t want a primary and a few senators. McCarthy and Nixon were able to slink away with more dignity than Trump and his family.

Well if a million show up (when a million didn’t show up to his 2017 inauguration), I’ll admit I was wrong.

Fair. I expect them to do far worse things in smaller groups for years. Black churches and non-Christian places of worship are going to need security.

I expect there will be enough security at the inauguration to warp the risk-reward calculus. But I would have expected such on January 6th, too.

his army just all bought airline tickets with credit cards, showed their faces on livestreams, and decided to commit felonies without realizing it. i know we are all worried that trmpers in the service are going to rise up, but his 10-15k in dc was not an army.
