Right, and they don’t crawl into their holes when Democrats control the government. That’s when shit really hits the fan.
The basic answer is to prevent Congress from certifying Biden’s victory or perhaps to certify Trump instead. I don’t know if that actually works, but a thin veneer of legitimacy can make it hard for the opposition to coalesce.

I mean just look at how every right wing nut in your lives are acting. Weren’t they all making excuses and blaming Antifa? Weren’t they doing everything they could to compare this to BLM to minimize it? Haven’t they seamlessly moved on to how we are communist now that big tech is censoring them?
How did they magically all get to the same viewpoint? It’s fucking scary that something this bad wakes up almost none of them. Like you say they aren’t going to get less crazy with Dem control of government.

I was just going to post something like this…
We’ve been discussing on here about what kind of charges should be brought to the rioters, and they should be charged pretty heavily, but in the end it’s not going to matter. The country is lost. There’s likely no coming back. I don’t know what it manifests itself as - is it just dem and some republican politicians live in a constant state of threat? I don’t really know how it will affect us on the personal level. Is it militias going around and killing any known liberals? Who is going to fight them? A lot of the police and military are on their side. How long before a national guard member that is protecting a state capital just shoots the governor themselves? We are truly fucked. I really don’t see a way forward. These people have been waiting for this moment their entire lives, and they’re ready to die for it.
It’s always been said that all these guys with their stockpiles of guns are no match for the military, but what happens when half the military is on their side?

It’s so weird to me how people who fear an authoritarian plot by the government, would then abet an authoritarian plot by the government. And Jesus I hope I don’t think I identify with the Patriot movement, but I too, fear corporate elites. I think we all should.
Cersei Lannistering the Capitol would have probably been enough to sow chaos and allow him to aggregate enough power to fill the void and keep power. Especially if he was able to get a general or two to go along with it. We are lucky he is an incompetent moron and did it in the dumbest way possible and the military wasn’t compromised like it looks like some of the Capitol Police were.
Also the police, national guard, military intentionally standing aside and watching it happen.

Im one of them. If they get their hands on the Senators im not sure what happens. All out civil war? Maybe now in hindsight instead of no way.
Still at that point i think its more likely the real army comes in and puts it down and the money and power removes trump.

Trump needed, at a minimum, not a dispute over biden’s certification, but an affirmative certification for him. If that were done on January 6 it would have started a civil war. It would have been the literal end of the USA.
Coups are probably easier without states, which is why Putin got rid of independently elected governors 20 years ago.

All I’m saying is white right wingers have been committing acts of terror in this country already for pretty much it’s entire history. In the supercharged atmosphere we are in right now it would be pretty much a miracle if some of this stuff doesn’t happen in the next 1-2 years.
