The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode XIV: T-minus 97 Hours

That article’s quite scathing. But how could anyone believe they could do some good in this administration by enabling people they know to be as thoroughly evil as Don and Mel?

I do think the populist/elite tension in the gop is coming to a boil. The tea party is coming home to roost. Gop senators are mostly elite and the house is mostly populist.

Would think Mitch and Co. have to impeach out of self-preservation at this point. I know these people value power above all else but wtf is going to happen to them personally if Trump somehow wins again in 2024? Think he is going to play nice and let them dog walk him again after they “stabbed him in the back.”

I get it, but she’s more of an idiot than a danger. I guess if you want to jail people for being idiots…

Look, maybe you guys are right and I’m wrong here. I guess if we made an example out of them it increases the level of idiocy required to do something like that again. I would think someone like her wouldn’t have done that if she knew she would be jailed for it.

But again @jwax13 is certainly right that I go on to the higher ups in placing blame. This doesn’t happen if not for Trump and all his enablers who spent two months spreading lies. Those are the people who should pay the highest price for this imo

You think if they drug Pence out she would be cheering or trying to free him?

You can’t have your cake and eat it too, but you can halve it and eat it twice.

Good question and it goes back to my previous post about how crowds react. On her own, I don’t think she’d be willing to kill him. But with a mob around her, she might very well go along. Mobs are dangerous things

A huge part of the reason they did this is because they believed they wouldn’t be seriously punished. So far they’ve been proven right.

I’ve also read that the law changed at some point and he would get secret service protection. (It was sourced but I didn’t go check the CFR cited, so who knows.)

I’m not going to bet my life on all of that being correct, no.

I don’t know how Biden plans to handle the GOP and Trump post presidency. I am not a leftist by nature or belief, but if Biden goes squishy and buys into “reconciliation” in deed as well as word, I will sign up for the first dem who runs against him in 2024, even if that’s 100 days from now. If Biden is spineless in the first 100 days I will write to Warren and others and urge them to run.

You might as well go ahead and get started.

Warren is one of the biggest reasons why Biden is in power

Ya sure let’s write strongly to the person who broke a promise regarding dark campaign money to stay in the race and get 4th in her home state.

The one who danced on SNL and was mum about the primary when she dropped out

But you know all this

Hard to believe everyone has forgotten all the details of impeachment, conviction, etc. when Trump was just impeached last year. But I guess a lot of things have happened since then.

One of the things I learned last time around is that you can impeach and convict someone even after they’re out of office.

BTW, impeaching Trump the first time round was definitely worth it and I think it had a positive effect on the election outcome.

After Schumer is majority leader, we’re going to need 17 GOP Senators.

Likely:

Romney
Collins
Toomey
Murkowski
Sasse

It is really hard to find 12 more. Even some of the below are huge longshots:

Cocaine Mitch
Thune
Burr
Cotton
Graham
Portman
Tillis

…and you still need 5 more after that.

Of course, he’ll be spineless. He’s gonna be worse than Obama

I mainly see this as Alex Jones trying to discredit a competitor.
