The Presidency of Donald J. Trump, Episode XIV: T-minus 97 Hours

I was replying to zikzak, didn’t mean to quote myself there.

I wouldn’t have made that bet but don’t think its absurd to think they would make an example of the “leaders” or ones most publicized. That happens all the time.

I knew that. My post stands. But now I’m leaning toward you missed zikzak’s joke.

Oh - yeah. zikzak is a bit obtuse sometimes so it’s hard to tell.

I thought there was a good chance anyone who went into the actual chamber where the Congressmen were at moments before would be charged with seditious conspiracy. And an even higher chance if you’re in an iconic photo.

Obtuse means stupid.

Don’t be obtuse.

Just want to say Johnny’s post was excellent. I will add that in addition to some punishment more than a slap in the wrist to the dangerous types that were there, it is important to “fix” the police and social media and other steps for this problem. I do not think that just giving 5 years to the ones who brought guns and bombs will fix much. There is so much work to be done.

For sure there are those effects as well. I’m interested in what PocketChads says about your earlier question about what motivates anti-racists or anti-war or w/e protestors. Kent State was a big motivator. Did heavy police response to George Floyd protests quell them or encourage them? Do people on the left feel afraid and disheartened because of government persecution?

It’s complicated though and you can’t expect the mirror image to be the same here. The groups and their feelings about the police and the state are different despite the way some of the most radical on both sides want to attack the federal government.

Around the time the Electoral College count erupted into chaos at the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday, law enforcement responding to two bomb threats nearby found 11 Molotov cocktails inside an Alabama man’s pickup truck, a federal criminal complaint alleges.

Lonnie Coffman, of Falkville, Ala., was charged Thursday with possession of an unregistered firearm, a reference to the Molotov cocktails, and carrying a pistol without a license, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Friday.

FBI Public Affairs Specialist Amy Adams said Jensen was arrested by the FBI, and he’s facing five federal charges:

  • Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority.
  • Disrupting the orderly conduct of government business.
  • Violent entry and disorderly conduct in a Capitol building.
  • Parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building.
  • Obstructing a law enforcement officer during a civil disorder.

No idea how serious these charges are.

JFC those charges don’t sound very serious.

I hear Trump is banned from Pinterest.

We already have one for some Americans. If not going after the people who tried to overthrow the US government in the name of trump as our king would change our fascist and racist laws id be on board. But it wont. So give them some equal justices.

Trump is really so fucking stupid. All he had to do is play moderately nice these last few weeks. All would basically be forgiven and he could launch Trump TV and grift off his 88 million twitter followers forever. He’s absolutely ruined himself because he got high on his own supply. Seriously Shakespearean stuff.
