It reminds of me of one school of “Trump isn’t a fascist” thought, holding that Trump simply can’t be a fascist because he’s too incompetent. “Really good at being a fascist” just isn’t part of the definition of “fascist”, though.
So yeah, utterly chaotic and cack-handed coup attempts are still coup attempts, basically.
