None of them are changing their minds, many will be radicalized even further, we just had a completely unprecedented erosion of political stability, and there is absolutely nothing on the horizon suggesting any of this is anywhere near ending.

If it wasn’t for the Capitol storming the entire Trump presidency would be memory holed and lied and distorted worse than the Lost Cause history of the South. This needed to happen so non-obsessives and casual politics fans will know exactly what Trumpism was and so no one associated with Trumpism can ever work in a normal job.
Frankly, that this whole shitshow went down makes me giddy.

Are all absolutely crazy stories. I strongly suspect that everyone talking about racial bias in policing is missing the main point deeply. An awful lot of signs point to the Capitol’s security being deliberately weakened to enable this attack to succeed.

Yeah, I really don’t think people realize how close we came here to the end of democracy. Candidly, I think all that stood between us and the abyss, and it pains me to say this, was Mike Pence and Mitch McConnell. Envision a scenario where Pence just straight up declares Trump the president like he wanted here. What do you think the outcome there is? Because I really don’t know.
