Republican politicians are always exposed in elections, but not from moderates or progressives. Most Republicans are in gerrymandered districts where the Republican party can’t lose. So their political risk comes from being primaried by a QAnon cult member. So they have to make sure they don’t get accused of being RINO baby eating secret communist pedophiles. That means sucking up to Trump.

Chief of the Capital police has now resigned too.
I’m re-evaluating my earlier thoughts on the DC police chief and Bowser not needing to resign. I get that it’s not technically their jurisdiction, but you’re telling me the DC Police don’t have a contingency plan to rapid-deploy and assist in the event of an armed invasion of the capitol? GMAFB. If they don’t, the chief of police and mayor should resign, and if they do and it wasn’t deployed, the chief of police and mayor should resign. Either way they should both resign.
