I can see why this could look bad but it also makes sense in the context of a deal like this where each nations interests effect the other two. It’s basically meant to address externalities.
IIRC, it wasn’t originally like that. I think the Goldman family got the rights to the book because of the civil suit or some shit. They changed the title to make the “If” small.
I could be wrong, but I think it’s something like that.
Yep. Don’t know if he doesn’t want the world to burn and wanted environmental requirements, had other reasons like this one here, or was astute politically and didn’t want to be part of giving Trump a huge victory over a relatively minor change to NAFTA - something that seriously will increase his chances of winning when the states that hated NAFTA and were key to the 2016 election are fooled into thinking this is something very different. But yeah, he’s definitely a notable vote against.
Only 3 no votes from congressional Republicans from both houses. I suppose they are notable for that, but the only one among them I recognize is Thomas Massey.
You are correct about the Goldman family acquiring the rights. For the cover, if memory serves, this was the original cover before it was recalled shortly before the original release by OJ.
Every single one of these assclowns who breathlessly reported about Republicans secretly mounting a stealth rebellion on the basis of unnamed sources needs to be taken outside and paddled. Worse than useless self-absorbed clowndicks.
