Right leaning voters are activated by fear. Left leaning voters are not. Hence the constant bewilderment that old white people vote and young minorities don’t despite Republicans being undeniably awful people. If you’re poor do you really give a fuck Donald Trump is a bad guy? They’re well aware Hillary fucking Clinton and Joe Biden don’t give a shit about them.
Everyone is activated by fear. No one likes people who don’t give a shit about them. We’re about to get an object lesson in just how many scared liberals you can pack into a precinct to vote in November 2020. It’s going to be a lot. If we nominate Biden it’ll be slightly fewer because a bunch of left wing voters will know for a fact that he doesn’t give a shit about them.

Dude, have you ever thought for even a second: maybe it’s not a symmetrical game?
What you seem to be missing is that the Elephants attack ads work because they exist in world which contains this entire RWNJ Entertainment Complex universe. There is a 24/7 stream of the same kinda shiz, and has been pumped out for over 30 years. There’s Rush, and Breitbart, and Jones, and Fox etc/etc. This entertainment product is bigger on radio than sports.
There is no equivalent, pre-existing, and omni-present, entertainment product for the Donkeys to tie into. Remember Air America?
So, how about you, as our resident pretend political “Mad-Man” guru, giving us your wisdom regarding this lack of symmetry here? Do you really want to contend that the Elephants attack ads would be just as effective without being able to tie directly in with this massive and pre-existing RWNJ Entertainment Complex? Do you really want to contend that Donkeys attack ads, without anything at all like that to tie into, can be just as effective as the Elephants?
I feel like all president elects must take a test matching the top 40 cities and which state they are in. If you miss ANY you are ineligible to ever be president and the election cycle begins anew.
Grunching some, but Bloomberg finished 60th out of 62 in USA Today Admeter and Trump 62nd.
Lol at pop tarts getting 61 w pretzel pop tarts. People going to be fired for that.
I don’t really think it takes a mad guru to figure out that dems should be running attack ads here. The president is hugely unpopular, you’re coming off historic midterm wins and there is a really god chance your nominee will be someone who’s already lost a primary before and not a Bill Clinton or Obama style rising star. Like it or not hatred of Trump is a huge excite the base issue. And if we go by the midterms it could be THE issue.
Of course the dems should be running attack ads and absolutely will be. Hopefully they take them seriously and don’t treat them as interchangeable with one another. Good attack ads have drastically more impact than mediocre ones. Great attack ads define election cycles.
The problem here is that it’s simply not true. She may have worked hard but politicians (at least the ones that matter) are still (willfully) blind. I fear the unintended consequense of this is even more apathy because once again the world can console itself that someone is doing something.
Dems should be running ads that are whatever the polar opposite of what hilldawg ran. I still remember cringing at the “are they going to deport” you style ads. Most people want them deported! I’ve literally gotten into arguments with these morons where I said “there’s 11 million illegals here, they work half of all farm jobs, if they vanish Thanos style there will be mass starvation” and they don’t GAF. Do anything other than attempting to appeal to American’s humanity. We don’t have any.
This is kinda off-topic, but hilarious.
A couple years back I went on a little road-trip with my parents. For some reason they still subscribed to OnStar navigation service. I told them Google Maps is way easier, but they insisted OnStar was worth it.
So we’re planning a route to New Orleans and my dad connects with the OnStar rep via the button on the steering wheel or whatever. The lady on the other end asks “New Orleans? And what state is that in?”. You work for fucking OnStar and don’t know basic geography??! 99% chance she voted Trump.
My parents canceled their OnStar sub after the trip.
How about issues-oriented attack ads?

The Orange-man badding from the left is getting tiresome.
“WAAF! They’re ripping up the constitution! Its GG democracy!”
Yes! All of the above is true. So then why the fuck are we running on healthcare? If Trump and his lackeys are an actual existential threat to democracy then surely that is the most important issue in this election. You can’t and shouldn’t run the impeachment of the president as a side gig if you want it to be taken seriously.
