A lot of boomers have a shitty authoritarian attitude baked into them. To them if someone is older or in charge or more experienced you have to respect them and they’re never wrong. They love and appeal to authority. My mom is my boss and pulls the, “Even when I’m wrong I’m right because I’m the boss.”
My parents have the same viewpoint of “respect the office”. They had to “suffer” through 8 years of Obama so how dare I disrespect Trump. Fox News of course amplifies all of this with lies and defending Trump’s lies.

Yeah earlier today my dad was over and my mom had MSNBC on. It’s incredible he can’t listen to anything but fox for more than 10 seconds without going on a crazy angry tirade about " lying bitch, they should arrest Schumer, we should nuke the middle east " or just regurgitating fox news talking points about lying schifty. He was legit really angry within 10 seconds and calling them all lying sons of bitches and saying we should, and he means this, arrest the democrats or behead them and shit.
I just sat there and admired how good the right wing media is at turning smooth brain olds into fucking mindless slaves to their agenda.
