Can confirm, new dishwashers do in fact suck. They can’t wash for shit and they can’t dry for shit. I replaced my 20 year old dishwasher which was starting to have issues and was leaking with a new one instead of having it fixed and I really regret
it.
It’s his stuck clock moment. He’s a little bit right on this issue. I have to prewash all my dishes now that go into the dishwasher, and then I have to put them in a fucking drying rack and leave them out to let most of them dry.
My dishwasher is new and works like a charm. I think you just got a lemon

Pro tip: If you open the dishwasher immediately after the wash cycle is finished when everything is still hot but before the drying cycle starts, pull out both racks and just leave them alone, they’ll be dry in about 20 minutes. This requires zero energy and is faster than most other options.
Advanced trouble shooting: You might need to give the rack a bit of a shake first if you have mugs or bowls with a lip on the base that collects water.

I think the new dishwashers require you to use a liquid “rinse-aid”. My new dishwasher didn’t dry worth a damn until I started using the rinse-aid, and now they dry fine.

I literally apologized to the dishwasher the other day when I accidentally opened the door during the wash cycle and the jets were spraying.
