The Republicans are working up a war on the homeless. Not on homelessness, but on the homeless. There will be more concentration camps.
And as you’ve noted previously, they will get support from non-deplorables. Lots of seemingly otherwise-sane Los Angelenos are in favor of “relocating” the homeless to the desert, or wherever. It’s a huge problem without any great solutions so many people would just rather not have it in their field of view. Which is easy for me to say in my neighborhood, I’d probably be more desperate for relief if there were encampments on my street. But I still don’t think I’d want to ship them off to camps in the desert, which I guarantee 90% of my neighbors would be A-OK with.
