I see these little dummies out most mornings. Am comfortable enough packing a few rocks in my pockets to throw at them, if necessary.
I had a close encounter the other morning where one of them was following us, probably just out of curiosity. I wasn’t really worried, but keeping both my bozo hounds under control was difficult.
Luckily a car came by and honked at the coyote and he scrammed.
Guess I hadn’t posted here. RIP Jake the IG. For all his blood protein and kidney issues the last three years, he ended up with fluid around his heart and shadows on his lungs. O2 dependent to breathe. The hard part is it manifested as I was literally flying home from a 2 week work trip. We had to make the call the next day.
Poppy the chihuahua is much more impacted than we thought she would be. We have already started looking since IG/mixes are hard to find. 3/4 of the dogs listed look nothing like an IG and the two places we’ve contacted so far have been radio silent.
Goes with my theory that a lot of rescues are really hoarders and rarely part with their fosters.
He was slinking down the other side of the street, coming towards us, then just kinda plopped down onto the ground. Kept his eye on us, but…just chilling…
This was the biggest one I’ve seen. Usually by the time the sun’s up, it’s only the juveniles out skirting curfew. Was very surprised to see a fully mature feller out at 9am.
Whereabouts are you? The coyotes here in Ontario are about 35-60 lbs. My dog is 75 and came across one about 55 lbs I reckon and went crazy barking and bluff charging him trying to chase him away. The coyote looked bored and looked around and then slowly walked away, but never seemed worried.
He’s fully chased other ones for probably half a kilometre.
