Came home last night and my dog is limping and won’t use his front leg.
Guessing he jumped off bed and landed funny. Gonna give it a couple days and if not better I’ll take him in.
I hate watching him hurt. It’s the worst.

Dog legs are weird. Sometimes soccer injuries with remarkable recoveries. Sometimes bad.
got through the holiday weekend and she’s down in total about 1 lb over the last 2 weeks. vet said she was chunky anyway so I guess that works. that was scary, first few nights when it started up she was extremely depressed and didn’t eat - last night was loud and she was uneasy but as long as I was nearby she seemed fine, treats and catnip helped, and for some reason the Avatar soundtrack.
Build them some stairs. Mine is right at the age where I’m getting ready to do it. Still young but I want to get ahead of all those reps.
Yep doing that this week. Luckily vet says just a sprain.
Just over 2 weeks after, my 21 year old cat who survived cancer twice has died. House is so empty. We have so much cat food, litter, 2 huge cat trees. I’ve always had a cat
Im sorry bud. 21 years is astoundingly impressive though. I have to imagine that the ones who live that long are unbelievably happy and loved.
Ya did good. Heres to hoping that the grief cycle is not too painful.
So sorry for your losses. I’m not much of an afterlife believer when it comes to humans but I like to think that my cats will always be together even after they’re no longer with me.
Might feel good to donate the food/litter to a rescue.
thanks I’m doing that tomorrow. I’m just stunned, at a loss. One of the “jokes” I made today with the wife is that we can go on a big vacation for a week+ for the first time in years without feeling guilty because we had 2 older pets. Hilarious huh. I’d rather have my cats.
I understand 100%. We are on that trip now and keep saying we’d rather have Apollo back.
How’s his nest coming?
i still havent totally unpacked from moving and have a spare mattress I set up against a wall in my living room, thinking stella would love to run up it and perch on it - been 3 months now and she only just now discovered it. we occasionally get those big black water beetles in the summertime and she was chasing one and ended up there and it’s been about 15 hours and she still won’t come down. she totally can - she just doesn’t want to, and any attempts to grab her make her go into “playtime crazy mode” so i gave up and am considering putting her water/food up there. She’s been really whiny and annoyed lately for some reason.
I think it might be because she’s a cat.
lol we know it
I want a voidcat so bad
you should get one - i heard on the radio some LA radio shelter was adopting them out with shots for free. they don’t get adopted and most of the cadaver cats bio kids use in HS are black cats :/
stella is hilarious. she’s an american shorthair (bengals have the yellow/orange eyes) but even at ~12 she’s got the feistiness of a kitten and is really easy going (other than being extremely communicative/vocal).
due to supply chain issues (i think) I’ve been having trouble finding the types of food/brands she’ll eat - the paste didnt work, but these finally came in stock again and she wolfed down an entire packet in about 20 seconds:
for about an hour she was walking around the house tail in the air chirping happily. lol.
she’s been asking to go outside lately and has been so understanding about it but we can’t risk it yet. i got a harness to let her out on a leash but she won’t let me put it on, i need a different kind that doesn’t require me running her paw through the straps.
