The Devils aren’t going to contend this year, but they should be interesting enough as a fan. Jack Hughes is very cool and his development is exciting. They also have enough emerging talent to potentially surprise.

Well that was a pretty weirf game. They were up 4-1 when Larkin had a meltdown and got tossed. They probably would have held on if he just turns the other cheek.

I went to bed after the Rangers scored the lead last night. Overall it wan’t fun to watch. 5 shots in the first period including 2PPs. They have to get some better scores before I decide to mess with the sleeping schedule again. For now its watching early games hopefully with some german action.
This is pretty unsurprising news, though tragic nonetheless. I guess the most surprising thing is his widow saying she was shocked it was drugs and he “never showed any signs of a struggle at home”. Later, the article says he had been to rehab. I guess denial is a pretty strong drug too.
NHL players take a lot of painkillers, even when they aren’t recovering from injuries. It’s actually surprising that we don’t have more incidents like this.
TSN (I think) has a good 30 min interview/mini-documentary a while back with Ryan Kesler about how fucked up he is post retirement. He basically destroyed his body to max out his on ice contributions during his career. Pretty intense stuff.
It was either that or suicide based on how you heard nothing. So effing sad. I wonder if started with prescriptions or not. Eff the Sacklers regardless.
