It’s not really that interesting of an article. It’s basically just that the Jets molded the team to suit Rodgers, but the problem is he’s washed. That’s really it.
Rodgers has a rich history of blaming his teammates and the weak greenbay media slopping up whatever his takes were. NY media is harsh and he has no excuses anymore. I am reveling in it. Zach wilson looked better last season. LOL.
tearing achillies and getting old really limited his mobility, he’s getting rid of the ball faster to avoid sacks or moving so much but it’s caused more interceptions. Also loyalty to hackett cause he ain’t learning a new offense at this point and the ex packers WR’s are the only ones who fully know his audibles and what he wants them to do at the line. lol at still wanting to play next year, people only take divas and those distractions if you’re really good. If you’re not, not so much.
looked this up, rodgers has slightly better stats due to having a really good texans game.
avg jets points scored overall has to be damn close between the two though.
also wilson was 4-7, rodgers 3-7 chess mate
well wilson beat the texans 30-6 last year so I guess not even that
also wilson is the only jets QB to ever beat the eagles
zach was also thrown into the offense and didnt have the benefit of hand picking his favorite receivers either. I’ve never enjoyed any schadenfreude thing quite as much as this, at least in sports. Maybe when the dbacks lost the world series last year.
It’s wild how far the organization has fallen. It’s one thing to bench Jones, but to skip right over Lock because you are trying to recreate the DeVito hoopla and desperately want people to still show up to games is bush league stuff, IMO.
Edit: I suppose it may be the right move if trying to tank for the #1 pick. In which case it’s a good organizational decision, although I suspect Drew Lock would fill the tanking role just fine as well.
Poor drew lock. Too bad to start in the NFL, not bad enough to secure a loss.
Devito is 3-3 as Giants starting QB
He’s not that good but he’s also the absolute perfect name for a Giants QB.
Drew Lock sucks worse than Daniel Jones and likely Tommy DeVito.
I’m actually surprised Lock is in the league because he’s been terrible everywhere he has played. Guess being drafted first round goes a long way.
He very well might. I don’t know. They both probably suck plenty. But I’m not the one who made Lock the backup QB. The Giants did. So it’s silly for them to pretend like this isn’t some contrived move to elevate Devito above Lock for reasons other than winning football games.
I very much doubt winning football games is a priority for the rest of this season. I think it’s a combination of tanking, trying to still get asses in the seats since DeVito’s a fan favorite, and also just making sure you don’t have a diamond in the rough with him (Lock is a known quantity so there’s really nothing to evaluate).

Agree it is absolutely both of these. I just find humor in the Giants trying to tell everyone well they’ve looked at tape and talked about things and voila all of a sudden someone else has earned the #2 spot on the roster.

I don’t really buy the last one at all, but I guess there’s a 0.0001% chance they want to just be sure. I’m not up to date on which advanced analytic is being used for QB’s these days, but Devito’s QBR last year was worse than any year Drew Lock has had.
Again, they both suck, it doesn’t matter who they play, and probably each have an equal shot at accomplishing the tank. But spare us the gobbledegook about how Devito has been really great in meetings.
Daboll and Schoen will be lucky to not be fired after this season. They might get another year since Mara is willing to give second chances.
I know the giants are patient but I think at least daboll will be gone, the giants are one of the worst teams.
Jones is obviously gone too in the offseason.
first round picks nabers and a bunch of oh dear why
Neal is a road grader but can’t pass block worth a damn
I think Daboll will be back but he’ll be on a short leash and if the Giants start off slow next year, I can see him being fired mid season. Arch Manning will be eligible in 2026 so it wouldn’t surprise me if they tank next year too.
packers bears awful losses for the bears brief list
1980–packers coked up (to be clear, not the beverage) kicker gets overtime kicked block but it goes straight to him and he runs in it for the game ending touchdown.
2010 NFCCG where cutler sprains MCL and can’t move, backup is completely washed, urlacher gets shoe string tackled out of a touchdown on an INT by rodgers and the third stringer throws a pick six to a nose tackle to lose at home by 7.
chris conte
tipped field goal
week 1 years ago khalil mack dominates the entire game (among other things a pick six, a fumble that was instantly a FG so at least 10 points by himself literally) and bears lead 20-3 in the fourth and still lead when rodgers gets some bullshit I think it was to cobb (looked it up, yes 75 yd td) forgot whatever packers win by one.
1989 majik man on fourth down throws game winning touchdown this is known as the instant replay game because ref ruled he crossed the line and replay overturned it, (correctly sadly but everyone still mad)
other things we all forgot
Matt Barkley storms back from down 17 in the fourth to tie rodgers, crosby hits game ending FG.
they lost to Brett Hundley
only thing I remember the other way is on walter payton day, a gust of wind comes out of nowhere to push a last sec field goal no good bears win.
and then there’s lions vs the bears
calvin johnson play, Lions up 17 in the 4th lose when deandre swift (then of the lions) drops easy wide open touchdown that would’ve won the 2nd to last play of the game, 2000 eliminated bears hit 54 yd fg to eliminate lions from playoffs
games everyone forgot
on thanksgiving the winless lions lose on a last sec FG to andy dalton’s bears
lions in 2020 at home lead the bears 23-6 heading into the fourth, lose 27-23 to trubisky again
2019 lead at home late in the fourth, lose to trubisky
the wind game, (ditka had taken the wind vs the lions once previously, bears won that game, fwiw both tomlin and BB have chosen the wind for overtime in a game after this and lost that game)
2005 tillman pick six in OT
the Lions lost one score games to the bears to Brian Hoyer, Andy Dalton, Trubes a bunch of times even starting david blough and jeff driskel and a bunch of people you forgot ever suited up for them.
Jets firing everyone except the shitty ass 40 year old QB.
Can’t imagine Douglas would have survived anyway, so may as well get a head start.
His biggest mistake was not having a reliable cheap veteran behind Rodgers last year. With the way their defense played, all they needed was somebody competent back there to win 10 games.
